Well, saturday morning a double homacide took place: my car killing the deer, and the deer killing my car. I was comming back from a friends place ass-crack early (about 5am). It was just me on the highway, not a car in sight. All of a sudden, this hell-spawn dashes into the road approxamently 20ft away, looks into the headlights and FREEZES! About a nanosecond later I mash into it, no time to hit the brake, brain didnt even have time to think the word brake. The deer, according to my brother who was in the passenger seat, preformed amazing acrobatic feats such as the barrel-roll and a backflip or two before rolling down a nearby hill. The car now, was making this horrible hissing noise and was giving me some resistance as I tried to pull it off the road. I made sure my brother was ok, got out to check damages (radiator punctured, lights smashed, and bumper bent into the wheel), then checked on the deer. If the deer wasn't dead when I mashed it, it was certainly dead within the minute it took me to get to it. I'm unsure how I feel about this creature. Either I'm glad it's dead or I'm sorry its dead . Its one of those I'm pretty sure.
What gets me is that it decided to run infront of me when it had plenty of time before I got there and certainly enough space behind me. The only thing I can think of is that it somehow saw my approach as its last chance accross the road before the evil machine of death blocked the road forever. So it took a chance and made a break for it. It was moving fast enough that it could have just made it without getting hit.. but once it saw the lights, it remembered its jurassic park survival classes and stopped so I couldn't see it...
