CD Review
Nine Inch Nails - With Teeth
Reviewer: Masticina Akicta
Presentation:
Nothing records is known to work with innovative methods to bring their media and this one isn't different, it is a cardboard box with plastic holder for the CD in it. Indeed, not a standard plastic holder but a plastic/cardboard box around the inner part of such a standard CD holder.
Some would call it shabby or open to be damaged, true in a way. But it looks neat. It comes with an info card ( so you can get more information by mail and email ) as like we see in software packages.
It offers One CD.
I self have a special edition with 15 songs on it, offering a nice tracklist
Tracklist:
All the Love in the world
You Know what you are?
The collector
The hand that feeds
Love is not enough
Every day is exactly the same
With Teeth
Only
Getting Smaller
Sunspots
The Line Begins to blur
Beside you in time
Right where it belongs
And two extra tracks
Home
Right where it belongs v.2
The Music:
Trent Reznor is know to make music that is not for everybody, every song is different and will attract yet different fans. There are some high sweeping songs like "The hand that feeds", I am sure they will run that song on MTV!
But also more relaxt songs and still, Reznor knowing, filled with emotions. Yes the music definitly caries that vibe, the emotion. The reason why we like his music!
It is hard for me to tell much, I mean it is music to experience for yourself. And it touches people strongly! I could go into every number but you only would get my view over it.
The sound on this album is More raw then past albums, even though many songs are soft in basis there is some rawness to it! It is far from perfect smoothened and actually that is very nice to hear! Through it's imperfection is finds a balance, another perfection.
Compared to last albums, it is very short, but the songs are very strong. The quality truly is there in the songs that are on the cd. And that is admirable!
So is this a CD to own, if you like NIN music, and can dig the methodology into the music, the layers, the vibe. You get my drift this is not music for everybody it takes time to adjust to it and actually enjoy it. But for those NIN fans out there, it is worth it.
