Hello again!
The Oklahoma group of the Ordo Templi Orientis has offered to allow us to use their temple in order to hold meetings. The temple is called Sekhet-Bast-Ra. As I understand it, the OTO is a Thelematic order. They have had a temple in Oklahoma City since 2005. One of their members, Fr. Steve (known as by the screen name sbrinformation) is also a ShadowLore member. Steve and Molly (another member of the OTO) offered ShadowLore Oklahoma the opportunity to use their temple when they were not holding services to hold our gatherings. After personally visiting with Steve and Molly, as well as a visit to the temple itself, I decided to take them up on the offer for our January Gathering.
Here is the plan. The January Gathering will be held at the OTO SBR temple in Oklahoma City, on January 28th, 2007, at 3pm. To get more information about the OTO, please check out their webpage at www.sekhetbastra.org/.

There are a few things that Steve wanted me to mention. First of all, as with most other ShadowLore events, attendance will be restricted to those 18 years of age and over. If a member would like to bring their children, please let me know and I will double check with Steve that it is OK (I don't anticipate any problems, so long as the children are well behaved). Since it is being held at the temple, at least one member of the OTO must be present. At the least, Steve will be there representing the OTO, but other OTO members may be in attendance as well. Finally, because the OTO pays their own costs to run their temple, and they are offering its use to us free of charge, any donations to the temple would be appreciated.
Other things to note about the temple. It is entirely inside, and has bathrooms with in the facility. Also, there is a small kitchenette which we will be permitted to use (which includes a refrigerator), provided that we clean up after ourselves. There is parking in front of the temple, and additional parking being very close by. Finally,
the area in the temple we will be occupying is very comfortable, with tables and couches.
I would like this to be a pot-luck dinner of sorts. Since we'll have access to a kitchenette, we'll be able to reheat foods brought from home. This makes is possible for us to have more than just hot dogs, hamburgers and sandwiches. I encourage all members interested in attending to make up your favorite dish at home and bring it to the meeting. I will again be providing some food myself, as well as some drinks. Also, bring a dish is not a requirement, so if it's not possible for you to do so, don't worry, you can still come! If you like to bring alcohol, please contact me via email so I can check with Steve that it would be OK. (That said, please remember that I will not tolerate people drinking excessively at the Gathering.)
Last but not least, I again encourage everyone to come! There are a few of you in the OK branch that I have not met yet, and a few others that I have met that I would love to see again. If you do come, bring things to share with the group - whether it be tarot cards, books, music, cameras, or what-have-you - as well as things you would like to talk about!
