Imagine yourself a traveler from another planet. You have landed on earth in hopes of making it your new home. What would your first impressions of earth and its inhabitants be?
Now......tell me what you would suggest we do to make a more favorable impression?

I think I would be disgusted b/c of the lack of human compassion within the general population. I'd also think that the human race are slobs and uncaring about the long term effects of their actions to the environment.
As for suggestions on what to do to fix the above problems. Nothing that I could suggest would ever be followed. Most have their own ideas on what's best for everyone else. (not sure if that made any sense whatsoever)

I would be frightened and saddened and would want to run away as fast as I could go. I wouldn't settle here.
Suggestions to make it better? Just follow the golden rules... be kind to each other, respect each other, help each other and put love and knowledge above all else... simple, eh?? ;D

I would be saddened by the way humans live. Their poor treatment of the earth, and how they treat the lower class, such as people who wear glasses or people who are black, white.
I would try to stop people acting raceist towards others who are different, for we are all the same, with the same heart. Color should never matter

Having explored my options further, nope! Humans do not want to be educated, they would see that as being patronised, nannied and so forth. If I were to stay to supposedly enlighten them, I'd only end up batting them about. Therefore I'd explore my options in the beyond.

As i emerge from my craft and look out into the expanse of Humanity I would feel a vibrancy. I would feel the hopes, the wishes, the dreams, the fears of 6 billion people. And I would love every single one of them profoundly. I would see the great lengths they have taken to BE more than they are, with very little guidance from outside, and I would see their courage. I would see the mistakes they have made along their historical path and I would hold them tightly for the ones they learned from.
I would see the EXPLOSION of the industrial age, and the immense advancements made in the past century and I would be in AWE of such quick forward growth. I would realize that my own planet made these advancements slowly over thousands of centuries, and I would understand why there is so much pain, confusion, and oppression on Earth. How can ANYONE accept so much technology so quickly without having some kind of psyche affect?
Humans are beautiful. They live with and through so much negativity, so much bondage, so much confusion and misleading information. Yet they shine through, and find the Love, and spread the hope in small ways. Some humans would need to be held and nurtured for many years to overcome the fear they've been programmed with. Some humans would need to be re-educated in order to see the Light through the Dark. But once those humans were set aside in their healing, the 5 billion others who have lived in the oppression and confusion would finally be free to just BE.
What a wonderful world to see as I step off my craft. I camoflauge myself of course, to avoid being intercepted by the Powers that Be. But those "powers" are miniscule compared to my Love.
Much Light & Love, Destra

Well, what is MY species like? What is my culture like? How does it compare with human cultures? Those things are going to influence my opinion above all else. My species might be more brutal and fractious, more destructive--or more gentle and timid. They may be individualists, or even have a hive mentality or group mind.
But beyond that, there would be a sense of admiration, because humans have achieved space travel, albeit tentatively. They are therefore part of the great family of spacefaring species...an elite and select group of entities, indeed. Whatever their flaws might be, the ability to do this means an ability to work together, and think things out logically--and the desire to explore and discover. That means they are at least, in some sense, my brethren.
