I keep getting this image playing over and over in my mind and I would like to hear some ideas as to what it may mean. All are welcome to reply. All I can see is a wall of scales reddish/burgundy in color and a bit grimy. Then a flash of fire and all the gook is gone. To me I get the impression that the fire is being used as a cleasing mechanism rather than a weapon. What do you think? *hugs*

well, how else are fire dragons going to clean themselves, they don't go into water for fear of losing their power.

Fire dragons loose power? Since when? From what I've always understood is that the mechanics of breathing fire comes from internal organs or what have you, so how can going into water harm them?
Please explain?

You know, Interesting thing is that I seriously don't remember where this is all coming from, and that I have no clue why I say some of this. Lack of attention in my mind is a major problem.
I originally stated that for I hadn't thought it through. I originally thought that if a fire dragon enters water, or drinks water, that it would just somehow get into it's internal organs that cause firebreathe. I have no clue why I thought that.
Now that my maturity has grown a bit more, I might not know anymore about dragons than I thought I did. And I myself don't even know why I bother with these forums anymore. I seem to know as much about any of these topics than I would know about rocket science.
I am sorry if most of my explainations seem false, and that I have quite possibly earned the reputation of an idiot in disquise. I guess I should just not bother with it anymore. In about two weeks, or a little more, I'll probably not be around. I have nothing better to do here anymore...
And Mairi, it might help if you, or anyone else interested in what I might or might not know, as questions. It would help. that away, I know what I might need to explain in mor detail.
((I do realize that this doesn't answer your questions, but this is just a general sayin' so...

Dark, it basically comes down to when someone who seems to have such a huge amount of info on any subject...there's bound to be someone who will ? you on it. As Mairi said inquiring minds would like to know...that's just one of the reasons these boards are here. I would do the same if i wanted to know something more on a subject or a person themselves. I think why your getting so much slack is you come across as a all knowing individual with sometimes smart ass replys. I do my best to keep these boards as open to opinions and speech as i can. Bout the only thing i won't tolerate on here is a flat out bashing of someones character and i don't believe you crossed that line. You have a right to your opinion just as everyone else on here does. Ppl are not gonna see eye to eye all the time...if they did these boards would be useless. It's not everyday i hear of someone claiming to be centuries old and lived countless lives...sounds a bit rpg to me but once again...it's just my opinion. Hell...i would love nothin more then to meet a 3000 year old vampire...the option of immortality would be quite tempting. But just like god, jesus, and even satan...i'll believe it when i see it. Maybe you have lived this many past lives and just are able to remember them all. Maybe you are such an old soul that you can carry this with you. I personally can't remember the last time i had a dream...but's that's a whole nother story in itself. All it is to me is difference of opinion....and with that comes ?'s from another. Hell...i'm never to old to learn something new...i'm sure others will agree. If you feel we're making you look like an idiot..that's your feeling alone. What you decide to do in the future of these boards is your choice, the only advice i can offer at this time is to better practice what you preach.

I am not sure... I have no more entent to stay here whatsoever anyways, because of a lack of explanation on my part. I have said that I do realize that I put myself out like I have, and I am sorry that I have.
I have said that I do not know where the hell I got that Idea, maybe some stupid thing from watching too many shows when I was little. I don't really remember some of the things I was talking about now, and probably never truly know why I said what I have, or why my answers/replies/posts/general seem to make me look like a smart ass.
I have said before, I AM leaving for general purposes. Most likely to try and clear a cunfused, clouded mind. I don't know if I will return or not, most likely not. I am sorry to have caused any problems, I don't know how to solve any of them.
Till My Last Post...
Forever Dark.

Well it seems like the real you is coming out just abit more then before Dark. Another reason why these boards are here is for ppl who may be confused or seeking answers to something...there is no shame in that. To me,you have'nt caused any problems that i can see..apologies not needed. You just caught the attention of those who wanted to know more of what you speak is all. If i thought you were that much of a pain in the ass i would of deleted you along time ago. Once again.... what you do is your choice...nuff said on this subject from my end.

Dark was not totally off the mark. Several books and ancient stories mention the fact that if a red dragon (a fire dragon) is plunged into water it looses some of it **mystical** power. Think about it. Water and Fire are opposites. It isn't that a fire dragon would loose its ability to spit fire it looses it's mystical power when submerged in water and until it gets dry again, besides fouling its wings making it difficult to fly. An air dragon trapped underground would also have this problem. A water dragon in a vulcano and an earth dragon somehow trapped high in the air. IT is the mystical properties of opposing forces.
Acacia, yes, Fire dragons use their breath to clean themselves. That is also one of the reasons in ancient stories about dragons that knights would use the scales of the fire dragons to make their armor. Those scales are impervious to just about everything except water. Fire dragon scales are reported to repel even the venimous blast of an acid spitting yellow dragon. I can't remember what ancient myth I read that in ... I think it may have been something from Chauncer. It was a long time ago.

Hmm... I am surprised, someone actually agreed with the old me...
Well to some extent, I hear that fire and water could also be combined, and to use the power of there opposing sides to form a nice bit of extremely strong magic. Of course, I am not sure as to how to do so, but I just wanted to add this for a general comment.
also, that acidic breath of Yellow dragons hmm? I think I have heard of that, very potential stuff it is. Strong enough to melt most metals, but red dragon scales are impervious to them. Hmm... that is an interesting bit of information.
