Usually sensitivity to cold comes with older age, but I'm in my early twenties. In winters past I could go outside in the dead of winter wearing shorts because I always ran a little warm. Now If I get even the slightest bit chilled, I'll start shivering and my whole body goes numb. This is all very unusual for me.
I'm not sure what this summer will bring or how the opposite weather will affect me. Hopefully it won't.

A common trait amongst the elf-kin is being very sensative to temperature. Whether it be cold or warm, if an elf-kin is exposed to the opposite of what they are comfortable with, it is almost impossible for them to go back to their normal body comfort zone. Like me, I hate the cold. Give me a hot rock in the middle of the desert and I'm happy. When I get a chill it stays with me all day unless I do something like sit under a heating blanket, take a hot bath, or chill in a sauna until I am warm again. I have also noticed that it is very common among the fey kin to be sensative to the cold. Most prefer it warm.
Now if you don't think it's kin related, it could be poor circulation. This can be caused my a number of things; low activity levels, smoking, poor diet. These are all factors. If it's caused by poor diet, try taking a multi-vitamin everyday.

Well, I never used to be this way. I take a vitamin every day. I don't smoke THAT much I eat fairly healthy compared to most my age. and I'm pretty active, i'm always moving around.

Maybe you're just getting old... you know old people have bad circulation LOL!!! Just look at those little old ladies who wear winter coats in the middle of summer... Are you a little Old Lady Donnie??? I'm just teasing you hun... I'm feeling peckish and playful today. Honestly, it could be a number of things and may have something to do with your awakening. Fo me, I have always been cold... it wasn't something that happened one day. But besides the fact that I'm elf-kin, I'm also anemic.

OMG... I did not come out of the house on Saturday!!!! It was sooooo, cold I went to the mall yesterday... but as soon as I got home, I was back under my blankets LOL!!! I guess the one good thing about Chicago is if you don't like the weather wait around for 10 minutes and it will change. Did you know this summer we had 2 days of 113 in a row?

Thats just chicago propaganda! I thought of another reason why the cold might be affecting me more now. I've lost a lot of weight during the last few years and don't have that thick coat of blubber I used to. I still have a bit of a belly and its really being a stubborn bastard to get rid of. I weigh a little less than 170 now, but back during my highschool days I was pushing 250 with a 40 inch waist. I'm down to 33 sized pants now My goal is to eventually be able to shimmy into 30 inch jeans.

Well Donnie, that may have been something you would have mentioned earlier... Geesh!! Yes that is most definately a cause. 170!! LOL, you're not much heavier than me LOL!!!! Damn Soon I'll be benching you hee hee. Anyway, I have a low body fat % so that most definately plays a part in temperature sensitivity. My son teases me and says, well mom, if you would get some fat on your bones you wouldn't be cold, I respond with, yeah and I'd be even tastier right? On a serious note, as in my first post, elfin and fey folk to seem to share that temperature trait, however, not everything in life is kin related, and I am sure thatthe loss of massive amounts of weight, especially fat %, will cause you to get cold moreeasily.

Yea, I'm 100% certain the weight has contributed greatly to my temperature issue. All it takes is a slightly cool breeze and I'm trembling like fucking Chihuahua.

im cold all the time...emotionally. about people who are awakening, felling your bodies tempature change is something that has to happen...depending on the type of fae you are becoming the changes could be large or small. most water, wind and dark fae deal with being cold, then the body forms it resistance and levels out and fae like fire and light deal with warmth etc....but earth fae feel all changes and their bodies dont settle at hot or cold, its constantly changing and there isnt anything to stop it from so.

75 is cold for me.. I wanna go back to Indiana. Just cause the summers were normal and about 100 around this time of year. When I lived in Jersey, all of my friends would whine about the heat and the like, and grumble at how I could bounce around and be hyper.. In jeans and a hoodie. Couldn't understand that I was a bit chilled from the A/C *shrugs*

Today is 99...heat index of 112 here in Chicago and I am loving it!! Same here, anything below 75 requires a jacket.

There is a medical condition which can make people more sensitive to cold. It's called Reynaud's Phenomenon (or Reynaud's Syndrome). You can read the wiki about it at en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Raynaud%27s_syndrome. Just an FYI... (I don't mean to imply people that are ultra sensitive to cold have this, but it is one possibility - my mom has this) -Saffyre
