Hi all!
Just wondering if anyone here can give me some background on the Dark Fae. I had some great info on them but I lost it. I would love for someone to bring me up to date.

Well, a lot of people would think: "well, if there are light fae, then aren't there dark ones to oppose them."
Legend says that the dark fae hide in the shadows of a person's mind, and give them evil thoughts or other bad influences. Some have been known to take over a body to rid it of purities, but they all usually show signs of good intintion to begin with.
But there is a darker side to this: They have power to influence luck, chance, and how a person would think something happened. The latter of the three being they change the ways things look to a persons eyes.
That there is about all I know about faes at this time, well the darker ones anyways.

There isn't dark or light fae. All true fae are gray, neutral and stand for balance. Seelie and Unseelie are 1. Roleplaying terms stolen by white-wolf.com, 2. Gaelic Scottish applied by the monks too group fae at the start of Scottish Caolic-Christianity in the about 9/10 century a.d.
Of course most of the web doesn't know this, and that's their fault I guess, or theyw ant too believe stereotypes. I'll have these and other mythos explained back on my site soon enough. ;-)

There cant just be neutral, considering wat has happend throughout time. There always has to be two sides (light&dark). Light and Dark have to exist to keep a balance of neutrality, otherwise there would be nothing. Noting times of peace, then time of chaos, times when life thrived and time when life parished. Just think back in history and u'll see my point.

No there is not light and dark fae. trust me. Just because someone is gray doesn't mean they aren't light and dark. Being gray/balanced means we are equal light and dark. ASK any true fae and they will tell you, just like I am telling you.
Also sidhe usually stands for "peace" well its not that fae can't bring peace, we can, and we do. But sidhe are a warrior people, all of us even the vampyric ones. :-) History is a tricky thing. We are warriors of the shadow and most would call us Dark, because we fight. History is recorded wrong. Ask anyone who's lived in it, or through it.
The Aes sidhe (or Light-beaerers) are often mistaken as good faerie. But just because a person is light doesn't mean they are good, just not like everyone dark means their evil. The aes sidhe were not a good fae people, as I recently discovered about.
You don't have too take my word for it though.

i still believe there are light and dark, but i also think that there arent just bad and good, that they dont take side but have a certain power over which they are.

Your right, in a sense. But there is no possible way for an entire race to be completely nuetral. it isn't possible. I have seen race try to be nuetral, but there are always the one or two that couldn't stand the way order runs through like that. It would also be entirely boring.
I am sorry, but I speak the truth, there will allways be light and dark, and sometimes nuetral, fea.

Nobody is ever alone. I have seen the darkest past's and the lightest futures through many versions and what has come up from it all is quite possibly the darkest, yet most civilized, person in the world, Me. I know most things about fae because of my contacts in South Caralina are all mainly Fae, Sprite, and other forms of the kind. I know most of the darkest creatures, and the lightest humans. If I didn't, then I wouldn't be doing my job on earth.
