Have you found that as a witch you mix traditions when celebrating holidays?

Yep! Xmas, tho we don't celebrate it as xtians (my family does), we still get into the tree, which gets decorated with balls as well as Nightmare b4 xmas stuff, we decorate some with a bit of color (well here's hoping I can get my tree and ornaments back from AZ by Dec), we go to dinner at moms, we still trade off gifts, tho I like making them myself when possible. Halloween is a mix of traditional and severe paranormal, Easter- we celebrate springnot the bunny or Jesus.

Will your traditions change now that Sera will be a part of your family?

well no one can ever say indefinately when a bay is born that nothing will changwe, but we've already decided we will raise her with exposure to all the pagan stuff we do, but give her the opportunity to make her own decisions on religious stuff when she asks or is old enough to pick a path. No, we won't go out of our way to expose her to Christian stuff cause we don't have that in the house, but many of her family members will probably show her things...i reckon my mom will take her to church, which is fine...she should ask questions of anything she witnesses...and no, we aren't baptizing her either. Our altar will be in her room...she will have her own corner to put things on it...and we will keep small or sharp objects out of reach. As far as holidays, nothing much should change, other than knowing she will hunt for eggs and get a basket for Easter from my mom.

It's funny, but since I've become so open within my family about my paganism, now every year at Xmas at least one relative buys me a cross or crucifix necklace. Which I don't really mind. I rather like crucifixes. I've got a large collection of them now and many are quite lovely pieces of jewelry. I especially like this rosary I got last year made from hematite (sp).

When I lived in PA, I celebrated all the holidays with my catholic family, but I just went along with the motions. Now that I live in Texas and live in a pagan household, I will now be able to celebrate the pagan holidays instead of the christian ones

I plan on raising my kids in the family tradition, which actually will take and evolve with each new contact with a different tradition. If they choose something else, they choose something else.

Kinda sorta. My mother raised my siblings and myself in a very open household. One sister is adamantly xtian, while one likes budhist teachings, and another and myself are pagan. My little brother is too young to decide what he wants to be, really, but when he starts choosing he'll get a chance to poke around. But anyways... I was a 7th dayer for about half my life, so I find I still do some of the things we did in church around holidays. The younger sister that's pagan wasn't a 7th dayer, so she just looks at me funny when I pull out the grape juice and crackers around easter, etc.
