Blade Trinity
Starring: Wesley Snipes, Kris Kristofferson, Dominic Purcell, Jessica Biel, Ryan Reynolds, Parker Posey, Triple H
Director: David S. Goyer
Writer: David S. Goyer
Rating: R
Wesley Snipes is back as the hybrid vampire hunter Blade. After being targeted by the human authorities Blade finds himself fighting both the vampires, their familiars, as well as the FBI. Now he needs the help a new breed of vampire hunters of the likes of a former vampire named Hannibal King (Ryan Reynolds), and the daughter of his mentor Abigail Whisler (Jessica Biel). Together with these vampire hunting Nightstalkers Blade faces his toughest challenge yet for the vampires have awakened the supreme vampire and progenerator of the race, Drake (Dominic Purcell) AKA Dracula.
Blade Trinity is another hard hitting, fast paced, action galore, effects driven movie that we come to expect from the Blade franchise. Also like the previous films helping great effects and along is a really great soundtrack The plot is not as solid as the previous films but the cast does a good job in carrying it. Wesley Snipes as always does an awesome job playing the intense no nonsense hunter. Though very reminiscent of Jennifer Garner's Electra character, Jessica Biel gives an equally intense performance as Abigail Whisler and they are few things as cool as strong female character kicking ass and taking names along side the big boys. The real high light of this movie is Ryan Reynolds as the sarcastic, wise cracking Hannibal King who keeps the audience in stitches.
The villains of the film on the other hand are for the most part less intriguing then the bad guys of the previous films. Danica Talos (Parker Posey) and her crew of vampires who awaken Drake are overly dramatic cheesy characters who don't seem capable of accomplishing any type of final vampire solution. The one exception to the somewhat lame villains is Drake nicely played by Dominic Purcell who comes off as a strong honor bound vampire who believes in living by the sword and is mostly disgusted by the state of modern vampire affairs.
Overall Blade Trinity is a fun, exciting film that is a good conclusion to a very entertaining franchise.
I give Blade Trinity ^^^^ out of a possible ^^^^^Fangs
