Greetings.
My question is simple, do any of you know anything about, or have heard of a race that calls themselves the Maelakines?

Afraid my information is very limited on them. Their bodies are normally proportioned compared to the regular human. However their skin is light brown, yet they share the same body and facial structure like the more north western europe rather than african structure.
Their faces are painted with few subtle markings, nothing artistic, and nothing near tribal markings. Along the backs of their noses, at each side a bit under their eyes there's two black markings, if looked close on you'll be capable of noticing tiny holes with tiny completely black eyes staring out.
Meaning, they have 4 eyes.
Their hair varies from light brown to blonde and silver. They are of a mix between a civilized and primal people. Very close to nature and earth itself.
But thats about as far as my knowledge on them stretches.

Hmmm very interesting reminds me of a nomadic tribe that live roam some where of the Scandics, ie Norway, Finland that general region, vast isolated lands scape's, i believe i saw them mentioned in a book when i was doing some Gaelic research on an unrelated topic.
I'm almost sure i still have in here some where, i'll see if i can find it. may be a wild goose chase just to forewarn you...

Maelakines....the name and the word comes to me in a famliar way. Saying it strikes a cord.
though the last part is Kines or kine meanting cattle. Are you sure this is the name for them. Skaldie you say...the way you describe them reminds me more of the tales from New Zealand then Skaldie. Let me look threw my notes for a moment and see what I can find....
Fae screams in my mind, unseelie as well (this was put in a way that is understandable to many..not saying they are of Gale (of the isles or close to) They are mentioned in a way of Nortic or Skaldie as I call them) ...though I can only find them fleetingly mentioned as if the reader should know what they are...damn my book.
