Every Kin, reguardless of race or type has traits that we share. I'm curious if any dragons ever feel the need or desire to take energy from other sources or in other words do you have any vampiric traits?

I would think so Mairi. I believe that every sentient being is inheritantly vampiric, we take from the Earth what we need to survive.
I'm newly awakened, and I still have tons to learn but I do tend to take in energies, I don't know how I do it but I do. I'm mostly tired all the time where I live, but get me to Eagles Mere, or any type of country area and I'm more alive, or at least I'm more excited to want to stay up as much as possible. ( I'm not sure if it;s the place or the people I'm with)

I'm a bit new here, but here's my two cents...
My main two phenotypes are wolf and dragon. For a while though (and before I was fully aware of my draconity) I thought that I may be a vampire. I believe it has something to do with my draconic side. I've had some theories and one of them involves dragons possessing many of the same atributes as psi-vampires. All I can say is that I had one hell of a time trying t figure out whether I was vamp or dragon. In the end though, I believe it's up to each otherkin/therian/vamp/human to deside what they are and are not.

I know it would make it easier for all concerned if those who are dragons would step up and speak about their awakening and what they have gone through to get to the point of recognizing and accepting themselves.

It's definatly a Therian trait. I know that when I am angry my therian side steps forward in my demeanor and personality and several have said they can see her in my aura.
So perhaps you should look inside yourself to see what therian traits you share.
It was recently agreed upon that dragon's are in fact a phenotype and most definately therianthropes. Yes, even though the dragon has been extinct for centuries. It is a far more spiritual association than those whose phenotype's are living animals. Mind you I am not saying that other therians do not have a spiritual connection with their animal, but rather that to be connected to a creature who no longer wanders this earth takes a spiritual dedication.
Hope that makes sense.
