Do fae and elves have memories of having lived underground? I know from stories and myths that fae did live in burrows and such in the ground.

Depends on the type of elf. I think Denmark has elves that lived in caves... actually quite similar to what we would see as a dwarf. I think there are underground dwellers in the Elenari lines as well. And don't forget those that associate themselves with Drow. For me no... I don't like the under ground, never wanted to be there, never had any ambitions to be there. I have 2 places that I can remember... and my memories are vaugue and few but both places have mountains near-by, if I'm not in them myself, and heavy forest, cooler climate.

I remember at least one life where I lived in the side of a mountain... The whole mountain was honeycombed with caves and they opened to windows on the cliffside. We brought as much light into the caves as we could but in winter it was dark most of the time. The cupboards and shelves were of stone but we carved into them the knobs and grain of the wood so that it seemed that the cabinets were made of petrified wood. That was in Anatolia around the time of the fall of Ninevah as best my family can date the memories... not sure why but those memories get passed down with each generation even when no words are spoken between generations, but they do. Grandfathers memories stretched back to the building of Ninevah... ah but he was old when I was born in 1961.
