Are there any physical characteristics that might tell if someone is Fae?

The only real distinction I've heard is that a lot of us look younger than what we actually are. I have prominant ears, but my sister of the heart that's pixie as well, doesn't really have that, so I think that's an iffy thing. I think we also tend to have more energy/bouncability, if you know what I mean. All of the fae that I've meet in person, typically, couldn't keep still for too long. As I'm writing this, my leg is bouncing, and I've got the urge to pace. I don't know about other people, though, just my experiences.

The younger look may be one tell, but that can also be a trait of otherkin in general, and I know a lot of vamps that have that trait as well. I was reprimanded once because I made a comment that fey types, I would think, should have some fey qualities, one of which physical appearences. I'm not saying that they should all be super thin and beautiful, but there should be something about them that draws you to them. And to many times have I run into "fey types" that I would not consider to befey at all. So I tend to stay away from what a fey type should look like physically. As elf-kin, I do know that us fey types can usually sense each other. Whether we mention it or not to each other is a different story. I can tell you that most fey types, those that don't fall under the elf category are usually more bouncy like Obscure Thoughts mentioned. Elf types are usually more reserved unless in a group of people when they tend to absorb surrounding energies... OHHHH... you just got me to think of something else... Ok thought for another time, but anyhow, to answer your question before I forget this thought, no physically, unless hereditary, there are no signs that someone is fey.
On to the elf list with my new discovery!!

If a girl I know (Teagan, who is like an adopted younger sister) turns out not to be fey I'll be SHOCKED. She LOOKS like a fairy, she's always collected fairy stuff, is the most humble, sincere, creative, natural and funny...you get it. She's also the ONLY person that doesn't become annoyed by my 10y.o. son!! He is high-functioning autistic, hyperactive & has tourettes. I was a nurse and I've NEVER seen the kind of patience and genuine respect that she gives to him. It is an honour to know her and to be a friend as she begins her spiritual awakening.

she means what kind of aura does one of fae kin posses....and that depends entirely upon the kind of fae or how powerful one is.

I have been told I have a rainbow aura that shoots out around me like a pot of gold. As nice as that sounds, it's not a good thing. Basically it means I'm not controlled. I go from one extreme to the other and I let my energies flow around me and I don't shield it or myself. But I'm not sure if it only has to do with my kinship or if it has to do with the type of person I am.

I've given this a lot of thought and I've never been wrong when I've asked so ... if the iris of each eye has two very distinct colors (like mine are blue with a gold ring around the center), that's a Fae trait. Some would say if the ring finger and the middle finger are exactly the same length, that's a Fae trait as well. I've only met one person in my life of whom that was true and he was a werewolf and didn't think he had any Fae in his ancestry at all. Another thing I've seen be true ... if when you look at a person in "full face" mode and their ears seem a bit pointed and outward bending ...maybe ...if the inner ridge of the top of the ear is creased, definitely Fae (Take a good look at the President's ears)

It's actually called a Darwin Point and I'm n ot sure if that always mean you are of the fae blood. Beyond physical traits you have to sense the person. Fairies especially have a peculiar attitude. Now I'm talking about the "ooh shiney object" attention span, which actually has become a pet peeve of mine, but an attitude towards life itself. The way the view things are very different than what most kin folk, even elf-born kin think. I will always use Wayne as my example: He is very conceited about his conceitedness and doesn't have a problem letting you know. When he has done something wrong, he recognizes that is was wrong, but it doesn't stop him from doing it again, and it doesn't have to end in his favor. Fey-folk are very impulsive and react on emotional, rarely thinking of the consequence, until it's to late. But that doesn't change the way they think or live. My eyes are not multi-coloured. I have standard hazel eyes, and change from amber browns to greens. I like to call them puke colouored eyes. Over the summer my friend's boyfriend said to her out of nowhere, "I have never noticed this before, but Heather's eyes are really pretty". I don't this is so much as the physical characteristics or the colour of my eyes, but what is beyond. And it's that unknowing attraction you need to look for in finding a fey/elf kin.
