In this world humans wish to class and name everything, and we sometimes use this habbit too. I have no true issues with this, but it can get quite confusing. I try to learn what I can about myself, I have never denied what I am, and thus I grow every day. But when others place you into classes its easy to feel lost. So, during my journies, I befriended a furry... this one I confided too, explained what I was, how I felt and what I do within the safty and privacy of my own home. And he laughed playfully and said that I had explained perfectly how most furries feel and act. After some time, still mulling the thought that I was "furry" I had met another person who claimed to be a wolf Therian (oddly this too was my friends form). So, thus I am gathering information to understand these classes... So, dear friends, I raise a question... how great of a differance is there between these? Do you think they can be interchangable or not? I myself would never wear a suit, but I do love the art... What are the similaries?

The words "Furry" and "Therian" often overlap in meaning and use, but they are not necessarily the same in definition. A "Furry" is basically anyone who has a greater than average interest (read obsession ;P) in cartoon animals, anthropomorphic animals in literature, or anthro art. Alot of them also have a thing for collecting plushies. Many furries do not believe themselves to be associated with any particular animal, while many others do.
These others are called "Therians". Therians are defined as people who feel they are spiritually connected to a certain animal, even mythical creatures. Whether it is through past lives, totem, spirit guide, etc. is individual to the person.
"Furry" can also be used to refer to the anthropomorphic creatures depicted in the popular art form. This is part of the reason why "Furry" and "Therian" are often used interchangeably.
So in common usage they are interchangeable to a point, but as you can be one and not the other, or both, I prefer to use them separately. I am both, by the way.
Oh, and most furries don't wear fursuits. Though alot of fursuiters do attend furcons to show off their suits and have fun.
On another note, humans tend to categorize and classify things too much in my opinion. o.O Don't let yourself get caught up in "You're this" or "That". You know what you are better than anyone, you're just looking for a word to put to a meaning.

Similarities? Seriously? I am Wolf not Wiley Coyote. There is nothing similar about it. One is reality, the other is fantasy. They are certainly not interchangeable.
