Recently I ran into a group of lycanthropes on another forum and to put it nicely they were unable to fathom that lycanthrope is not the only type of therianthropes that exist. In simple terms they had convinced themselves that werewolves are the only phenotype and anyone else is just a wannabe.
Now I run into this all the time with Vampires but I was rather surprised that the one group of Kin that I thought had all their ducks in a row could be so narrow minded and prejudice.
Have any of you run into this before?

The correct term is "stupid kids", lol. Non-'kin do not have the monopoly on %$$holes. Neither does any particular kin-type. There are as many in the therian community as there are in any of the other communities. Each subcommunity does seem to have its own typical drama style, favored over others....the type of politics engaged in can vary a bit. Therians tend to be very independent creatures, and this can extend to being very antisocial or cult-minded (our group is the only "right" group), and extremely opinionated.
Thankfully, the numbers of these kinds of people are relatively low in all the communities....they just tend to be so loud and obnoxious, lol.

I run into these types all the time, online and irl. Then tend to just be confused kids that got a little too carried away with a RPG.

How do you deal with them though? It's difficult to not just walk away and avoid that group or message board because of these types.

It's sad when people are not open to other possiblities. I don't like to ignore anyone but sometimes you have to. Self preservation and all that good stuff.
