Why is it that a portion of those who are pagan's discriminate against those who are slightly outside the mold?
I'm pagan following an eceletic path and I am also a vampire and therian. And it seems that narrowminded pagan's who say they are open to all discriminate against me. Why? Why are you so afraid of something different?

Dearest Mairi you have said a mouthful. A few months ago I was roaming about this great wide web of ours, and came upon a chat site for "Wiccan's and Pagan's". Well I used to follow the White path, and though I have stopped following the rituals and solstices, I still carry much of my lessons with me in my daily life. I went into the web chat under the name of Starseed, which is what I am. And I was shunned, told to leave, and then kicked out!
Before I was booted one girl said something about "Get out stardust we want none of your kind here!"...
When I studied Wicca, about 10 years ago (studied for 2 years under a Priestess/Coven in Alberta Canada) i was taught Love, Acceptance, and most of all Light. It is unfortunate that many of the "order" do not practise these same things. How on earth any being can call themself Witch, and then cast insult upon another being for being "different" is beyond me. As Witches we have fought oppression, misrepresentation, lies, persecution and the like for thousands of years. It is a shame that so many bad apples try to spoil it for the bunch.
If you are a Witch and you study and follow the White path... you must remember one thing, in addition to the Wiccan Rede... and that is HARM NO ONE. When you use your tongue to lash out at another living being, that causes harm, and as any good Witch knows, that will return to you 3 fold.
Mairi when someone tries to make you feel less than you are, which is spectacular... just smile at them, wish them the brightest of Blessings, and hold your head up highly with pride, knowing that you are who you are meant to be.
Namaste dear Sister of Light
