New Moon in Sagittarius
Saturday, December 11, 5:30 pm PST
A New Moon in the outgoing fire sign of Sagittarius is usually a rocket ship ride into the future. But this one is conjunct Pluto, darkening it with ghosts of the past that need to be exorcised before the next flight takes off. This is an excellent time to burn off karma and let go of old habits. Before that happens, though, encountering excessive judgment within ourselves and others is likely.

The love planet in the sailor's sign tends to bring out the wild side in all of us. Pleasure comes from pushing boundaries, exploring new territory in relationships and risking safety for adventure. Hearts need room to grow, which encourages them to wander from familiar places and patterns. Tasting forbidden fruit can be dangerous, but at least looking should be allowed.

After three weeks in reverse, the communication planet finally starts moving forward. Items that have been lost in the retro washing machine may begin to reappear. Information flows more smoothly, new ideas emerge and fresh contacts are more easily made now.
Sun in Capricorn
Tuesday, December 21, 4:42 am PST
The winter solstice (summer south of the equator) is a turning point of the year, days growing longer, ambition growing stronger. Capricorn, the cardinal earth sign, marks a time of commitment when high hopes and proper planning lead to long-term conquest. Establish a goal worthy of your highest aspirations and you can find the energy it takes to reach them.
Mars in Sagittarius
Saturday, December 25, 8:04 am PST
The action planet needs room to move, encouraging physical activity, and a readiness to play the fool in the search for more. Giving up control is often necessary to learn and grow, so the only mistake now is an unwillingness to let go. Let the heat of excitement take mind, body and spirit to places where you have never gone before.
Full Moon in Cancer
Sunday, December 26, 7:07 am PST
Emotional overload can be uncomfortable, especially in a family setting. Yet, inventive Uranus' harmonious hook-up with this Full Moon suggests that new solutions can be found to old problems. Bringing fears out in the open can look bad at first, but can be exactly what's needed to help finally overcome them.
Venus in Capricorn
Sunday, January 9, 8:56 am PST
Expect a more serious approach to relationships now. Love and ambition seem like an odd combination, but this is a time when focus and attention can lead to pleasure and romance. Respect is essential to nurturing partnerships, personally and professionally. Give it to others and expect nothing less for yourself in return.
Mercury in Capricorn
Sunday, January 9, 8:09 pm PST
The mind's wide sweep begins to narrow as we gather ideas in preparation for turning them into reality. While rigid thinking is the downside here, the reward is in recognizing underlying structures that help us make sense of the world. Communication can become more cautious now, but that's useful when words are taken so seriously.
The New Moon in Sagittarius aims for the sky, but its close conjunction with underworld ruler Pluto darkens hopes for the future with primal fears. Turning cynical is an understandable reaction, but fortunately is not our only choice. Pluto is empowering when we engage the shadow, burning shame and turning it into fuel. Going to the deepest parts of ourselves is not turning away from the light, but a way to gather force to take us even higher.
Have a great month!
