I need some imput to decide what I am going to do. I am involved in a situation where magic could help, but I am concerned about whether doing magic in this situation would alter free will.
What's your take on Free Will?

I suppose it would all depend on whose free will we are talking about. You as the spell worker are doing so of your own free will... If you know that by doing the magick, that it will alter ppl to go against what they originally would have done and the magick is donw without their knowledge then yes I would think that be a free will issue. I can be wrong tho since I am still new to the whole spell casting and spell working.

I agree with acacia. It depends on the thing you are doing. If you are trying to change someone's free will, it has to be very darn drastic. Lets say they are about to commit suicide (yes. this is off base, but bear with me) and you are unable to contact their parents, police or a doctor. You use your magick to change their will, save their life. It is wrong to change someones free will, but if you have no other choice, then it is ok. It is super hard to chose what is right and what is wrong in such a drastic time. But don't use your magick to change the free will or your parents if they are acting stupid. I am currently still living with my parents, and have been tempted to try this, but I remember that there is the "Three times" rule. Whatever you do comes back to you three times, either in a row, or mangified to some extent. Several times you may be sick with your father drinking and coming home drunk, or your mother treating you unfairly. Magick here would be a total waste, because this is not drastic. It is just the life of every teen to ever live, I would guess. It was that way with me. My dad drank and smoked a lot, but I never used magick to change this. I shall continue to talk about this incase anyone needs help with their parents. I am no doctor, but I handle my parents with such grace most of the time, I rarely get frustrated.

sigrid. The problem you have, or had, with your father is the perfect example of a drastic situation. If he was about to kill you, then you used your magick correctly. Your sister on the other hand, will surely get what she has been doing. This is just a guess, but if you keep using magick over and over for no good reason, the three times rule will keep applying, but get worse, the times building up to where it could be very dangerous, but not deadly. Over using your magick for no good reasons won't kill you, because the last thing spirit, the lord and lady want is us dead. Just tell your sister to be careful what she does. You can't go out and magick everything around you. First of all, it will do nothing for your magick. You will not gain much experince. Also, you will drain yourself. Magick, real good magick that is tough to do sometimes, will just drain you of energy, and you'll be exausted before you can even finish the day.
