Do you grow your own herbs that you use in spells or do you gather them from the wilds?

Like with most things in my ideals. Anything I use in a ritual or for my magickal workings, most be grown by my own hands or dropped/formed by nature. Sometime in the future, I may change my mind and start buying things from shops too. After all. I am not about to become a black smith to make my own sword or things like that.

I normally buy herbs from a homeopathic shop or when I've had the opportunity to visit Kew Gardens. I can't grow anything in my flat!

I don't usually practice any spell workings right now, but if I did, most likely I would buy the herbs b/c I do NOT have a very green thumb...I probably could kill the fake plants lol
*hugs*

My wife had a nice little bed out by the kitchen door but since her passing I have let it basicly run wild. Though there are a few things that still come up year after year.
I have found that growing your own herbs for spells enables you to project your own power into the plant and makes for a better working spell, in my opinion

I will agree with you Justin that if you grow your own herbs you do form a sort of "bond" with the plants, but for those of us (at least me) who live in concrete jungles, we don't have that opportunity b/c there is no grass on our properties *pouts* so store bought would have to do...speaking of which...has anyone ever tried those Chia Herbs? (From the makers of Chia Pet)
