I don't know about the rest of you but when I need to feed I tend to hold off till the last possible moment. I guess I think I can make it just one more day without what I know I need to make my life better.
What is it about feeding that we keep putting it off till our need becomes so bad that nothing else will work? What is it that we are so afraid of?
Any thoughts on this?

When something has to be hidden from most of the people around you, there's always a sense that it's a shameful thing, and therefore something to be avoided. Additionally, perhaps you want to test yourself, to reassure yourself that you're still in control, and it's not ruling you. Or perhaps it's a matter of needing the reassurance that it's more than just a delusion, and the intensity provides that.

It's as easy as using the restroom, and on most people it can be done without them knowing it. As long as you refrain from doing it to people that can do something about it, whats there to hide?
